Ankara and Denim: D’ankara

Heyy darling.

ankara and denim

Welcome back to my blog. If you’re new here, you are welcome too. Hope you stick around. On my Instagram page, I promised to do a blog post on an Ankara and Denim outfit I put together some weeks back…and since I am not a promise and fail pikin, here it is.

Years back, Ankara was probably looked down on, as a cheap fabric worn by the poor. How bleak that notion is! The Ankara fabric has come to stay as it has found its way into the hearts and wardrobes of many. Investing in Ankara fabric is a great way to save money and is a safe bet as there’s no size limit. You either take it to you tailor to sew or get it custom-made perfectly for you. Ankara has also been incorporated into bags, shoes, note book wraps, pillow cases and so many more.

Denim, on the other hand, popularly known as ‘jeans’ can be traced as far back as the 1790s. I do not know one person who doesn’t own a pair of Jeans. like kilode? Not even a Jean shorts? lol

Anyhoo, these pictures were taken a few weeks back during one of my blog shoots while at the professional photography training I talked about HERE. This is the first part of my D’ankara series. I have some in store for you.

By the way, there’s a poll going on my twitter HERE, please be kind enough to stop by and vote. Thank you.

Plus, the CAG bloggers’ forum I spoke about HERE will be holding again next week and the dress code is Ankara and Denim. So, if you’re a blogger and you’d be attending the event, this is some inspiration for you.
