CREATIVES SPOTLIGHT: LOLA GEORGE (365DC STUDIOS ART MODEL)

As Creatives, we must be able to put ourselves out there and support one another.

I have collaborated with Gabriel Olude of 365DC studios to give young ladies between the ages of 18-23, a free one-week training in photography. The rules are simple:

6. Tell us a bit about yourself, education, background, interests etc.

I am Olwadamilola George, but I love being called Lola George, a student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta popularly known as Ojere, studying Mass Communication. I’m the second in a family of five; two boys and three girls. I’d really describe myself as a person with a versatile skill-set, a lot of integrity and willingness;a December born. Chuckles! I have interests in a lot of things, but let me just say my major interest is in business; anything legal, reasonable and ethical that brings money.

2. What prompted you into modeling?

PASSION!!! Yeah! Passion is what prompted me into modeling. I grew up watching fashion shows, reading magazines about models. I knew I wanted to put a “real girl” in the middle of this crazy world, it’s an insane environment, so there’s lots of fodder for adventure, humor and drama, especially from the point of view of a small town girl who’s not yet jaded.

3. What is your genre of modeling?

Well! I have featured in several online international magazines which makes me a commercial model, so I can’t pick just one genre cause that’s what the question entails, but basically I’m more of an Art model.

4. Have you faced any challenges since you started modeling?

Criticism from family members and friends, especially their ringing quote; “You better go and find something real to lay your hands on”, just to mention few. I do fight a lot with my photographer which is a normal thing, if we don’t quarrel/fight there’s no way we will understand each other. It’s the circle of life.

5. How has your experience been modeling for 365DC studios?

I must say my experience with 365DCstudios is spectacular, I don’t just go to the studio to shoot, I go there to learn more about life, career, and the bible. My photographer talks a lot about the King Solomon, he uses the bible verses as samples, all the time.

6. Do you model full time?

No, I don’t,and that’s because I’m still a student. I’d love to after my graduation.

7. Who inspires you?

A lot of people inspire me, I can’t start mentioning names because they are just too much, and I don’t want to mention some and leave some. They might end up breaking my head (laughs).

8. Can you model nude and why?

No! I can’t. I can’t shoot nude. I had promised that all my endeavors must glorify God. Modeling nude does not glorify God! I would say there’s no big deal for others doing it, but due to the way most photographers react to things like that, some would even share it on social media which is very bad. There are other ways to shoot picture with clothes on and it would still look like a nude picture.

9. Do you have any special diet to keep you in shape?

None, I don’t eat much though but my fitness/shape is all natural.

10. Any advice for the upcoming models?

Almost every female out there wants to be a model, most fall on the other side, only  few find the right path. Well! I just want y’all to know this “Being a model is not just about the looks, but what makes you Stand Out, realizing your Niche. Everyone has that opportunity and there are different classes of models from Petite, Glamour, Runway, Plus size and so on, so no matter your size, it’s about your ability and BELIEVING in oneself!!!” Just believe you can do it, and you will succeed.
