In this post, I am going to give you a quick 3 – step routine for those lazy days, where you really cannot be bothered to do the most. Are there days you get home so tired and can hardly even eat dinner before hitting the bed? Have you been in bed all day and just too tired to do your normal 8 step or 12 step Korean skincare routine? Are you just not a fan of so many products and would prefer to use less stuff on your face because less is more? Then this post is for you 😉
Step 1: Cleanse
Without mincing words, I can wholeheartedly say that cleansing is the most important step in your routine. Layering products on dirty skin is a waste because the dirt on the skin will make it difficult for the other products to penetrate the skin and do their job. Cleansing removes make-up, dirt/impurities, dead skin cells, and excess oil/sebum from your skin.
If you have had makeup on during the day, I recommend a double cleanse with a cleansing oil/balm as the first step. Using an oil cleanser to take off your makeup before going ahead to do another cleanse with a gel or foam cleanser, will properly cleanse your skin of all makeup and dirt. Oil cleansers are recommended because oils will properly breakdown the oils that have mixed up with the makeup on your face during the day.
Step 2: Tone
When you wash your face, the water offsets the natural pH level of your skin. In order to re-balance it, you need a toner. Most toners have ingredients that not only re-balance your skin’s pH level but also soothe and calm the skin. If you decide to use an exfoliating toner, you do two steps in one – exfoliation plus toning. Win Win! Look out for ingredients like Aloe, Glycerin, Rosewater for soothing/calming and for exfoliation, look out for Glycolic acid, Mandelic acid etc.
Step 3: Moisturize
Moisturizing helps the skin stay supple, smooth and reduces wrinkles or signs of aging. Dryness is an enemy for your skin so you need all the moisture you can get. It also helps a lot of other skincare products work well as it aids the shedding of dead skin cells. Moisturizer is your perfect layer of protection at night! If you have oily skin, you can go for moisturizers with a gel – like consistency s it doesn’t feel heavy on your skin.
The steps could take you just 5 mins. It’s quick, its easy and you don’t have to wake up to dragons on your face. Now that you know how to still have a simple routine even when you’re tired, go and flourish and never sleep without washing your face again! Lol
